HELSTON COBER VALLEY, JUNIOR YOUTH SPEAKS
We run an annual competition for Junior Youth Speaks in the Helston Schools area.
This is an exciting event for all concerned and an amazing challenge for public speaking! A team comprises of a Chairperson, Speaker and a Proposer. We have heard debates on such subjects as "Is there anyone out there?", "Is school uniform necessary?", and "Should it be jam or cream on top?" The pupils have the opportunity to choose their own subject title and respond to a question session afterwards. Timing for all parts of the presentation is extremely important and points can be lost for not observing the "traffic lights system" which helps the flow of the talk!
