Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites
Christmas Party and Carol Concert 2024

On Saturday 7th Dec Birstall Luddites held their annual Christmas party at Howley Hall Golf Club on
a stormy wet and windy winter evening.
57 Rotarians partners and friends gathered to enjoy a traditional Christmas meal and Carol Concert
played by Emley Brass Band.
Emley Brass Band is a traditional Brass Band with roots that date back to around 1870.

Master of Ceremonies  Rotarian Jeremy started the evening, introducing Rotarian Nigel to say grace.
The meal was enjoyed, the raffle drawn and Jeremy introduced the Emley Brass Band who played carols requested by each table in turn. Final carol the 12 days of Christmas was sung with each table taking a day through to 12.
A feature of the carols was a wool ball fight which was enjoyed, throwing wool balls at each other.
President Margaret thanked everyone for coming and making a very enjoyable party on such a poor stormy night weather wise.

Thanks to Carol, Kathryn and Jeremy who ran the raffle, which made £215 profit for Kirkwood Hospice.
Big thanks to Jeremy for organising and running the Party.
