Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites
Santas Travels Christmas 2023.

Birstall Luddites Santa started his annual Christmas tour by visiting Birstall lights switch on 28th Nov and then onto 6 Howden Clough street collections, Hillhead Drive, Moat Hill, Woodlands and Almond Way, Greenacres and Foxglove, then onto Millers Croft and finalay the ST. Thomas church collection. After the Millers Croft collection Santa visited Cobbles Cafe Youth Club (see street collectionsfor Cobbles pic) to see excited Children and give out presents.

Other visits included Birstall Cricket Club NSPCC, Fieldhead School  and 4 visits by Santa Bill and Santa Robert to Fairfield School
.
Thursday 21st Dec Birstall Luddites Rotary Santa desended on Tesco Supermarket Batley.
The weather blowing a gale all night, 40+mph winds did not stop Ian and Santa sleigh arriving
at 09:00 ready to greet shoppers and children doing their Christmas shopping.
All collectors and Santa stood in a very draughty and cold Tesco foyar. Well done to all.   
Batley Extra collections ran through all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

As well as bringing joy to hundreds of childrens of all ages, the club collectied for local charities including The Kirkwood and Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
All praise to Ian for his oganisation of the whole event and endlessly driviv Santa and the Sleigh around Birstall Howden Clough and Batey..
