Tuesday Nov 27th marked the start of the club Santa outings with Santa staring at the Christmas lights switch on in Birstall market place. Luddites acted as traffic marshals . Notably John Sugden who was there most of a very cold day.
Ian estimates that he will take out the Sleigh 20 times over the month of Dec. Visiting the streets of Birstall Howden Clough, a local Street party, PPG party and school parties. Santa visiting Fairfiels School, RVS Christmas Party and Tesco Superstore for 2 days. whow! well done Ian. |
Teams of 8 Rotarian collectors plus Santa with Ian driving toured the streets collecting for local charities.
A big Rotarian and friends rota for the Tesco days enable the club to collect for two days. Big thanks to Sleigh Engineer Bill for maintaining the sleigh and thanks to all the different Santas and Ian for Project Managing the event organising leafleting, collection rotas and towing and manovering the sleigh around the streets of Birstall, Howden Cloygh and Batey.. |
