Meet the Officers of Bideford Bridge Rotary Club


Bideford Bridge Rotary Club is led by a warm, hard-working team of volunteers who keep our projects moving and our members connected. Here’s a quick introduction to the officers serving this Rotary year.


President – Andy Heather

Our club captain. Andy sets the tone for the year, champions “Service Above Self,” and brings members together to deliver hands-on projects across Bideford and the Torridge area.


President-Elect – Vincent Bowen

Focused on continuity and fresh ideas, Vincent shadows the President, leads planning for next year, and helps coordinate major events and partnerships.


Secretary – John Bishop

The club’s organiser-in-chief. John manages agendas, minutes, and member communications so everyone knows what’s happening and when.


Treasurer – Andrew Laugharne

With a careful eye on the books, Andrew ensures every pound raised is accounted for and directed to where it makes the greatest impact.


Membership Lead – Alf Lees

Alf welcomes prospective members, supports new Rotarians, and helps everyone find the right place to serve and thrive within the club.


Service Projects Lead – Mike Johns

Mike turns good ideas into action—coordinating local initiatives from community clean-ups to food bank drives and seasonal appeals.


Rotary Foundation & International Lead – Ralph Anderson

Ralph connects our town to the wider world through Rotary Foundation grants, global projects, and campaigns like End Polio Now.


Youth & Schools Lead – Vincent Bowen

Vincent builds opportunities for young people via competitions, leadership programmes, and collaborations with local schools and colleges.


Public Image & Communications – Andy Heather

Andy shares our stories. From social media to press releases, [

helps the community see the difference Rotary makes.


Community - John Wilson

John works closely with local groups and organisations to identify needs in Bideford and beyond, ensuring Rotary makes a real difference on our doorstep.

Entertainment & Fellowship – John Shardelow
John keeps the spirit of Rotary alive through social events, club gatherings, and activities that strengthen friendships among members and families.

Immediate Past President – Andy Heather
Andy offers continuity, ensuring the best of last year’s progress carries forward.
