Our year of fundraising

A few of the good causes we have supported

This year has seen a number of successful events.

Bideford Bridge Rotary Club & Bideford Tarka Rotary Club have completed an amazing fund-raising summer with the aim to provide local charities with the support they need.  100’s of hours goes into planning and developing these projects and supported by an army of volunteers.

None of it would be possible without the support that local businesses, companies and sole traders who have so generously shown their support for their local community and Rotary in their amazing sponsorship of all events

Charity Golf Day  -  at Royal North Devon Golf Club - this last Saturday 31st August.

Marking the 30th anniversary of their Fund-raising Golf Event at the iconic Royal North Devon Golf Club, 140 golfers played in this prestigious event on Saturday 31st August to support The Rotary Club of Bideford Bridge and the local community in raising funds for good charity causes.

In addition to some great golf being played and being rewarded with a superb array of prizes, the day included the culmination of an online auction for 4 ball rounds of golf which in itself raised £3000 for funds.

The North Devon Festival of Transport 2024 event, (11th August 2024) has proven to be a successful attraction  with local visitors, tourists and exhibitors alike.  Well over 2000 visitors joined us in Victoria park to help raise £11,000 for local charities and headline charities, Royal Devon Hospitals Charity and Exmoor Search & Rescue.

Our sincere thanks goes to all the visitors, exhibitors and local company sponsors that made this event possible.

Rotary clubs of Tarka and Bideford Bridge held and organised the annual Tour of Torridge Cycle challenge on Sunday 21st July.  Our many thanks to all the volunteer marshals that made the event a success and to all the riders that participated to help raise funds for two amazing local charities, Ask for Jake and The Tarka Child Contact Centre.

Grateful thanks to the community that supported the riders as they made their way around local villages on route.

18th September 2024 saw our very successful Triathlon which was run together with Tarka Club. We were blessed with good weather and some great individual entrants and some relay teams. A great event that saw funds raised for the Penguin Sports Foundation and Clarity.
