Our usual monthly meeting

However, we started as usual by approving the minutes of the last business meeting and the Club and Trust Fund accounts.

We then turned to our meetings programme. Members agreed that we should stick to the latest meeting pattern, with the first two Thursdays of each month at the Chelmsford Rugby Club and the fourth at the Ivy Hill Hotel. The third Thursdays of alternate months will be at Sanctus, leaving us free to make other arrangements on the other third Thursdays.

The design of a pull-up Club banner highlighting our link with Backhouse Solicitors has still to be decided. Various suggestions were made.

We will be organising our normal annual projects, including the Rotary Young Musician competition and the senior guests’ visit to the panto. The possibility of participating in a project to provide “bleed packs” in various places to aid the survival of stabbing victims was mooted; the organiser will be invited to address the Club so we can learn more about it.

Our blister pack recycling project has proved too successful and will have to be cut back as we can’t meet the demand. Chuda Karki is hoping to raise the matter with our local MP.
