H&W organises a Party in a Brewery

We do 'Social' as well as Business

Dusting off the hops!

What a great way to spend an evening!  Hythe & Waterside Rotary members and their guests were given a warm welcome by Toby, proprietor of the Dusty Barrel, a craft beer micropub in Hythe.
Not normally open on a Monday, H&W Rotary had exclusive use of the venue for a Beer Tasting Masterclass with Toby explaining beer making methods and how they affect the end result,  before serving everyone with 8 different types of beer to taste and evaluate.
Opinions varied enormously as each beer, including lager, pale ale, modern bitter and (quite a favourite with many) a Trapist beer was marked for its appearance, smell, taste and finish.
Ray Lewis, President of Hythe & Waterside Rotary said "Since reducing our formal meetings to fortnightly instead of weekly, it is wonderful to be able to spend social time together in the local community.  This is not only good for our members but helps with our links with local businesses and shows local people that Rotarians have fun alongside the more serious work they do."
Hythe & Waterside Rotary would like to thank the Dusty Barrel for making them so welcome and for making it such an informative yet fun evening.

Please note: It's not all about old men in suits poised to give cheques to charity!

(Although we do that too)
