Fundraising with a Medieval touch
Hythe & Waterside Rotary held their Annual Charity Dinner, courtesy of Lord and Lady Montagu, in the historic Domus at Beaulieu again this year, with guest speaker Andrew Lancel.
Andrew is a television and theatre actor, producer and director, best known for his appearances in TV series such as Cardiac Arrest, The Bill and Coronation Street. He entertained the audience with a talk about his work experiences on TV and stage. He is also an accomplished singer and in 2005 entered ‘Celebrity Stars in Their Eyes” as Aha singer Morten Harket and won!
Almost 90 people attended the event which started with of a glass of sparkling wine in Cellarers Hall on arrival, followed by a superb three-course dinner. A raffle and silent action were held, making the total raised that evening over £3,000. This money will be used to support a variety of charitable causes at home and abroad including aid to the Ukraine.
H&W Rotary would like to express their appreciation to the many sponsors for this event which included local businesses, hotels and restaurants.
