A History of Lord's Cricket Ground by Steven Miell

Mon, Nov 9th 2026 at 5:45 pm - 8:15 pm

Lord’s Cricket Ground, established in 1814, is known as the ‘Home of Cricket.’ Over the years, Lord’s has evolved into a magnificent cricket ground, blending historic buildings with modern, state-of-the-art structures.

Steve’s interest in cricket was evident from an early age, fuelled by his father. He played first-eleven club cricket for several clubs, including Lydney, Chingford, Havant, and Wanstead. He became a playing Member of MCC in 1985 and has been a Tour Guide at Lord’s since 2019. During that time, he has led over 650 tours and escorted more than 14,000 cricket enthusiasts around the historic Ground.

Steve is the author of Lord's Cricket Ground in 50 Memorials, which will be on sale during the evening.
