Reasons to Celebrate
At the meeting on 24th March the Club celebrated its Charter and also the induction of a new member.
At the Club meeting on 24th March, celebrations were the order of the day!
The Club was joined by the District Governor, Edwin Partridge from Heywood 2020 Rotary Club to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the presentation of it charter by Rotary International in 1939.
DG Edwin talked about the many achievements of the Club over the past 87 years including most recently, on-going financial support to East Cheshire Hospice, collection and transportation of medical supplies, clothing and books to Ukraine and planning and manning the closure of streets in Knutsford town centre for major civic occasions.
President, John was delighted to welcome Tom Groves as the first new member this year. Tom originates from the town and has recently moved back to the area. He has already attended a number of Club meetings and made many new friends amongst the members. Following his induction Tom said a few words, commenting on the warmth of the welcome he has received from the Club and he looks forward to participating in future Club activities - the next being our Cheese and Wine Evening on the 11th June in the Market Hall.

Followed a recent charity Sunday lunch the Club was able to make a donation of over £2,000 to East Cheshire Hospice. Over recent years the Club has donated in excess of £20,000 to the Hospice

Having managed the street closures for Remembrance Day earlier in the month Rotarians were again in action on the weekend of the 29th and 30th November 2025 manning the ParknRide for the Christmas Market along with members of Knutsford Hosts.

John Savage became the new President of Knutsford Rotary at its last meeting in June 2025. His objective for the year is to make Knutsford Rotary Inviting, Inclusive, and Inspirational.

On the 11th February 2025 there was a first for Knutsford when Knutsford Rotary and Knutsford Academy hosted one of the 12 regional heats of the Rotary Youth Speaks Programme.

The Club was asked if it could provide the car park marshalling service for the 2022 COVID and Flu vaccinations the Club of course said, Yes. Members were ably assisted on the last session before Halloween by 3 witches and the Grim Reaper!

A dozen Knutsford Rotary volunteers were in the town closing streets for a short while on 30th July so that the Mayor's procession could pass through the town centre safely.

Rotarians and friends were at Booths supermarket from Thursday 10th March to Sunday 13th March 2022 collecting donations for relief work in Ukraine

Rotarians were back on duty on the 23rd December as the next round of COVID-19 booster jabs began .

At 3:00pm on Monday 22nd November 2021, the last patient to receive a Covid vaccination from the Knutsford Medical Partnership was guided into the Knutsford Community Hospital by a team of marshals organised by Knutsford Rotary Club.
