The AGM of the Rotary club of the Howe of Fife began with the Treasurer’s Report from Roddy Greig, who said that the Club’s finances were sound and his budget for next year showed a modest surplus and would allow member’s subscriptions to be reduced to £100. The Rotary Foundation Report from James Storrar highlighted our continuing support for the plan to eradicate polio with the purple crocus project and the October publicity campaign based on floodlighting the Village Inn. The excellence of the Club’s website was noted by Cathy Adamson in her Publicity Report with thanks to Sandy Davis. She said that the posts on Facebook are reaching a wider audience.
Don Allan presented his Children, Young People and Vocational Report which recorded our new links with the Scouts and the cricket and football clubs in Falkland, Freuchie, Strathmiglo and Newburgh. John Kerr’s Community Report listed the meetings of the Walking Group, the visits to Pitlair, the fundraising at Ladybank Golf Club, our forthcoming Golf Day at Elmwood and the charity collection at Tesco in December. The existing Honorary Members were ratified and it was agreed that Dianne Matthew would be invited to become an Honorary Member of the Club.
