Speaker for tonight was Aaron Henderson, the grandson of our member Bob Henderson, who gave a fascinating talk of his travels over the last 7 years.
Aaron started off working with Scottish Water when he saw an advert for snowboarding lessons which kindled a passion in the sport. After spending a winter in Scotland he wanted to further his interest and giving up his job travelled to New Zealand where
he undertook an instructors course. After gaining his qualification he journeyed to California to continue his passion there and spent the next four years alternating between New Zealand and California.
He then decided to stay on in New Zealand to see more of the country working his way in the hospitality industry. Going from bar work to a position in a cocktail bar. He was then involved as a partner developing a quality spirits distribution company. When
that finished he was ready to try carpentry and housebuilding. Then as his visa expired was inspired to travel.Travelling in Thailand, all over that beautiful country. Then onto Vietnam, from the stunning ancient cities to touring by motorbike.
Now he is home in Scotland he has a new passion, photography, which developed (no pun intended!) from his travels.
A most fascinating account of seven years.
