Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites
Speaker Anthony Horan - Alzheimers Society.

On Monday 10th March Anthony Horan came to the club and gave a talk about Alzheimers Society.

Anthony gave a general insight into the work the Society does.

He talked of the different types of Dementia and how the symptoms
affect speech, vison, balance, personality

and memory loss.
He talked about 2 new drugs that had become available.
Anthony talked about initiatives like " Think Brain Health" and "Going Orange" and "Cheer for Volunteers"

Rotary Alzheimers in Yorkshire
Rotarian Patricia Waite Wright from the Headingley Club, talked to the club about the Rotary Club of Headingley and 7 Leeds Rotary clubs who have organized a "Walk for a cure".

Last year the walk from Temple Newsome raised £13K

Patricia said they have organised a walk this year on 31st Aug and Paticia is hoping more Rotary clubs could participate, say 10 people from different clubs could raise more money for the Alzheimers Charity

President Margaret thanked the speakers Anthony and Patricia.
