West Yorkshire Angling Club for Young People.
On Monday 3rd March Matthew Rhodes and his team came to the club to talk about their
Angling Club for Young people
.
West Yorkshire Angling Academy provides coaching and opportunities to fish for young people provided by qualified coaches who volunteer. They fish venues across West Yorkshire and cater for all needs. 16 coaches and 23 young participants.

Matthew started the talk explaining about the Angling Club and their aim to give an hours free coaching to young people aged 6 to 18. years  called "Lets Fish"
The youngest of the team who came to the club was Henry who spoke about his time at the club, his like for the social part and his large rod bag he had won and his fishing box.
The talk explained about the 16 coaches , Level 1 and 2 training and safeguarding.
He said they go to Scouts, homes
less groups and the disabled, and schools to talk about the angling club.
Every Saturday there is an academy indoor or a Lets Fish.

He explained about making ground bait and people passing on fishing gear which they accept to pass down to the young members . He talked off their trip to a Youth match in Shropshire with 250 young people fishing and then to receive a prize in their Hall.
The club obtain grants from the Angling Trust, Wakefield Council and Mirfield and Cleckheaton groups.
The Team then took questions from Luddites.

Rotarian Mary thanked the Angling club for their visit and talk.
