Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites 34th Anniversary CHARTER DINNER held at Manor Golf Club Morley Mon 31st Oct 2022 President Steve led guests, Rotarians, partners and friends who gathered for the clubs Anniversary CHARTER DINNER. Guest of honour was District Governor District 1040 Malcolm Tagg . Grace: Rotarian PDG Past Pres Nigel Arthurs. Loyal Toast President Steve Gooder. Welcome and Introduction of Guests Pres Elect Rotarian Helen Wall Sergeant at Arms Rotarian Gerry Wright Guest Speaker Dr Agam Jung Consultant Neurologist and Director of Leeds MND. 1040 District Governor Malcolm Tagg gave a short speech congratulating the club for holding its club membership. After his speech President Steve presented Rotarian Bill Hildred the Club Treasurer the Paul Harris Foundation award for his many services to Birstall Luddites. President Steve also awarded Friend of Birstall Luddites Debbie Jennings for services helping the club Guest Speaker Dr. Agam Jung spoke of her life as a Doctor and her goal of building the new Rob Burrows centre for MND in Leeds. The centre has an appeal for £5 million pounds to enable the building to start. She spoke of her close relationship with Rob and Kevin Sinfield and her introduction to Rugby League. President Steve called Past Pres Nigel to award a cheque from his year as President for £1000, added to this was monies from the nights dinner for over £300 awarded to Dr Jung for her appeal for the new MND centre. |
