Robert thanked the 28 attendants for their support. Then followed the Frugal meal of soup sandwiches and chips which was enjoyed by all. Robert then introduced District 1040 polio coordinator Janet Crampton.
Janet took over Roberts role at district and came to the frugal meal to find new ways to raise monies for Polio in the district.Janet talked about visiting a large Rotary convention in Toronto which inspired her to take the district Polio lead. She talked about her 'Polio newsletter (LINK) and talked of the two countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan where there were still Polio cases.
There was only 1 wild virus case reported in each country.

Denise Adlard "Bed Pans and False Teeth".

Denise talked about her life and experiences as a District Nurse in and around Bradford. She said she was playing at being nurse at 4 and when 17 started at Bradford Royal Inirmary as a trainee nurse, and later at St Lukes doing midwifery training part 2 as a pupil midwife.
Denise was a Community District Nurse for 49 years based in Bradford. Denise talked about her brushes with the Police and her Austin Healey Sprite. Denise told stories of her visits around Bradford and the Holmewood Estate. Her amusing stories were enjoyed by all. Robert thanked Deise for her talk. |

District Governor Stephen Ellis rounded off the evening by thanking Robert and the club for organising the event.
Big thanks go to Robert and Jill for their hard work, the raffle raised £100 and the overall total raised tba. |
