Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites
Annual Seat of Knowledge Quiz 2021

On Monday 22nd of Feb Birstall Luddites held their Annual Seat of Knowledge Quiz in the form of a Zoom Quiz. The evening was organised by Birstall Luddites secretary Rotarian Paul Barnes and the Questions were set by the Rotary Club of Ossett.
The Quiz consisted of 4 rounds of 20 questions, each question having 4 possible answers with 5 points given for a correct answer. The answers were input on a second device using Microsoft Forms.
The final round was a "Say what you see". This was a quick fire round using the Crowd Buzzer for participants to buzz in when when they had the answer.
The questions were submitted using pictures from a PowerPoint display designed by
Ossett RC.
There were over 40 Rotarians taking part in the teams and organisers.which is a good total considering the current circumstances.
The clubs taking part were Batley, Dewsbury, Ossett, Ossett Phoenix, York Ainsty and our club Birstall Luddites.
The winning Team was from Dewsbury RC who took the trophy this year.
Congratulations go to Rotarian Andrew Young representing Dewsbury.
Runners up were Team 2 from York Ainsty who were only 3.75 points behind the winning team.
Third place went to Team 1 from Ossett who were a further 5 points behind
Four Luddites came within the top 10 individual scores ,Rotarians John Keen.Tony Smith and Nigel Arthurs
David Robinson from York Ainsty and Andrew Young from Dewsbury had joint highest individual scores of 270.

A special mention goes to Peter Whitworth from Ossett Rotary who scored  95/100 in the final round.

Big thanks go to Fay, Peter and Dennis from Ossett Rotary for setting the questions
Thanks to all participating Rotary Clubs who managed to master the Quiz operation which ran very smoothly
Finally a big well done to Birstall Luddites' Secretary Paul who very bravely organised the Quiz in its Zoom format.
Paul was very cool leading everyone answering questions and fielding the answers so quickly.
Well done Paul.
The Annual Seat of Knowledge Quiz rolls onto 2022 where a draw amongst the inner nine clubs led to Birstall Luddites RC being selected to set next years questions hopefully back to the normal format
