Entertainer Karen Clegg then led a sing-song with the Carlinghow pupils helping with the Christmas carols. A raffle and Tombola helped with fund raising for the RVS, who had had a break in at their office and had money stolen in the previous week. RVS thanked local supermarkets for food donations Tesco at Batley and Cleckheaton and Morrisons in Heckmondwike Tracy Brabin thanked the Jo Cox Foundation for their generous contribution to the party gifts. Big thanks to Ian for pulling the sleigh down to the community centre on a dreadful day in heavy rain and Santa Keith for being Santa. Jeremy conducted the proceedings very professionally Carol and Katherine serving tea and coffee with the help of Rotarian waiters. All Luddites worked hard plus Edith . Jeremy thanked all the helpers and Fazila on behalf of the RVS thanked Birstall Luddites for helping with the Party. The event finished just after 5pm when Rotarians helped to pack up the Community centre. Hopefully this is an event where Luddites can help RVS Christmas Party for years to come. |
