Kathy Kenure awarded a PHF

Kathy Kenure was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship (seen above being presented by District Governor Keith Davison) for her service to the local community. She has been involved in voluntary work with bereaved parents for more than 30 years. She has, until her recent retirement, run the Bradford Bereaved Parents Group and also visited and supported many hundreds of individual parents on the telephone or in their own homes. She was also co-ordinator of a group which organised a Bereaved Parents Service in Bradford Cathedral every year for the past 15, until this year. She has dedicated herself to helping people who have suffered the bereavement of a child. The work was carried out whilst bringing up her own family, and was entirely voluntary. Kathy has helped raise money for the National Charity, FSID (Foundation for the study of Infant Deaths) and has also worked with local hospitals and health professionals to improve the support they offer to people who suffer loss of a child. Neither she nor husband Geoff (Club President) were aware that Club Secretary and other members had decided to make tha award and for it to be made at the Club's 91st Charter lunch.
