Both provided interesting background to their life, careers and experiences. Parallels included both having Celtic heritage, married to Anne’s, Student Union Presidents, and extensive experience on various committees, retiring early from their earlier careers, long-time membership of several Rotary Clubs and being President of Rotary Monmouth. Pete rising to be a senior manager in the Post Office and David sold his pharmacy business in Aberdeen after an offer that was too good to miss. Second careers as a locum manager with Boots (David) and as a mediator and roles with the local health authority (Pete) have kept both engaged following their earlier careers. Pete’s enthusiasm for Rugby as a player and supporter contrasted with David’s for soccer.
