Young Chef

Marling and Archway school participated in a Rotary Yound Chef Competition in Oct/Nov 2025

The above photograph shows one of the judges, Tom Herbert from The Long Table and the winner Eliza-Grace Keddie of the Archway Competition.

The competition was  held in T- block at Archway School on a Saturday morning, there were seven entrants, all were Archway pupils.

The young chefs had to cook a main course and a pudding for two people in one and a half hours.  They had to create their own menus and were allowed to spend up to £15 on the ingredients.

Their meals were judged by the two judges, when the meals were served based on, choice and originality of menu, planning, range of skills used, hygiene and tidiness of working, meal served at the correct temperature, presentation of table, taste of finished dishes and costings.

The young chefs showed exceptional skill and creativity, producing beautifully presented and delicious dishes. The attention to detail was outstanding — from the thoughtfully laid tables and printed menus to the perfectly ironed and folded napkins!

All of the young chefs were presented with a certificate of participation and the winner was presented with an Amazon voucher.
