Liz's talk is ' When home is the most dangerous place to be'

Rob Davis from Saraid will give us a short update on the work they do and especially in Beriut currently following the large blast.

Women's Refuge

We provide a range of accommodation and support services for women and children in our two refuges.

All of the families living in the refuge have had to leave their home as a result of domestic abuse.  We offer a range of services to help build skills, confidence and self-esteem and help families move towards a happier and healthier future.

If you feel that you might need refuge support, please give us a call on Stroud 01453 764385.  You may also find some useful tips and advice in the Women's Aid Survivor's Handbook:

Saraid
Staffed entirely by volunteers and funded solely by public donations, s.a.r.a.i.d is on call 365 days a year, always ready to provide trained search and rescue personnel, free of charge to any country in need of assistance. S.a.r.a.i.d members are drawn from all walks of life. However, the one common attribute shared by all our volunteers, is the desire and determination to help the innocent victims of disaster around the world. Our membership includes serving firefighters, paramedics, doctors and structural engineers as well as office workers and builders.
