Member Rogan Wolf as our speaker.

Our member Rogan Wolf will update on his work locally, and also describe his project "Poems for the wall." See https://poemsforthewall.org

And what a powerful manner in which Rogan covered the subject.

Covering some of his work locally with folks with quite severe dementia  - I was touched by the impassioned response from another of the new Rotary members, to memories from someone at Wisma Mulia who was a child during the Second world war. Earlier he had told us he is over 90. Now suddenly he too was remembering the war, and seeing Bristol in flames from wherever he was standing. Was he almost crying as he recounted that ?

Last night I also talked about this project I run called 'Poems for the wall' (it started life being called 'Poems for the waiting room'). https://poemsforthewall.org.

He outlined some of its bilingual poems exhibited in Clifton Cathedral, a few years ago.   here is a series of pictures

More recently, we have produced a children's collection as well, and exhibited that for a week or two in St Mary's in Frampton. The artist involved in that last collection lived with her husband on Bridge Street here in Frampton. She gave her work free to this project. (Sadly, she died of cancer several months ago.)    e found along the top of the home page.)

Attached below the  Kingfisher poem The background to that story again : Charles Buckley was walking with Susie past my house, (which is very near one of the pools along the Green) Suddenly he was rushing about with a camera and told me he'd just seen a kingfisher on the edge there (amazingly near the road and this little row of houses) ; he told me I should write a poem about it. I blenched inwardly but then, soon afterwards, out if came, dedicated of course to him and Susie. He also told me he had photographed two kingfishers together, by the pool nearer his house. I asked him to send it to me - so there you have it - the poem and the photograph all on the one page.
