Stonehouse Club have been investigating how to attract new members and where changes to the club activities and operation could attract a younger and more diverse membership.
District Lead on membership, Drewe Lacey on 30 March spoke about how the Bishops Cleeve Rotary group of 14 new members was set up under the guidance of neighbouring clubs; a more informal satellite club.
Drewe stressed the importance of social media for communication and knowing your community and doing what was needed. The Rotary group had recently taken a lead in raising £26k for Ukrainian refugees by a collection at the Cheltenham Festival horse races.
He encouraged members to think more laterally to achieve Rotary objectives and the traditional arrangement of social meetings can run alongside interesting community activity.
Much to think about and discuss at our next meeting. Thank you Drewe for being a catalyst for opportunity and sustainability.
