News from the Interact meeting held 20th of November 2012 as provided by Past President Brian.
Interact Meeting 20th November 2012
The fund raising for the International Project, the working visit to Kisumu in 2014, continues with bag packing at Budgens' this Saturday.
The Local Project is to (in pairs) visit elderly people living on their own and to sit and chat and offer to do shopping for them.
Interact would welcome suggestions regarding elderly people who would like to have a visit and then visits will be arrange.
Interact members have offered to help us at our Charity Fund Raising Welsh Choir Concert.
The members will be making a presentation about Interact at school assembly with a view to getting younger students involved.
Several members have shown an interest in applying for the World Affairs Seminar and Ashley Mortimer will be following this up.
There will be a joint meeting with Our Club on Tuesday 19th February at 7.00 pm.
The next meeting with be in the EcoLab at 2.00 pm on Tuesday 4 December.

Amazing cycle challenge by our President John in support of the Sue Ryder Charity. The ride starts on 25th August & a daily Blog with photos will update on progress. Good Luck President John!

On Sunday 25th Sept 2022, he arrived at John o'Groats on his charity cycle ride for Sue Ryder cancer charity, Leckhampton Court,Cheltenham, raising some £6,000 plus! Supported by his wife, Sally, driving the total route to support him, congratulations!

On 10th July President John completed the gruelling 104 km Cotswold cycle ride to support the Sue Ryder Neurological , Palliative & Treatment charity. Temperatures raised to 32 celsius , but all good training for the 'Big one' , his LEJOG challenge

Our 2022 Competition tee'd off on 10th October at Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Club. (Recent winners were 2017 Richard Taylor, 2018 Paddy Roche, 2020 Ray Bell, 2021 Barrie Freeman). The Trophy was won by Neil with 32 points!

Members & wives/partners gathered at the art-decor cinema, the Sherbourne, Gloucester,to see Mary Poppins 2 , followed by dinner at The Queens Head, Longford.!

Newent & District Club members, working within the community of Highnam village, were assisted by 20 CUBS from the 31st (Highnam) Scout Group to plant nearly 5000 crocus bulbs on Tues 27th Sept, in celebration of Rotary campaign 'Purple4Polio'.

Started with the Pop Up Charity Shop, Chepstow Races,Staunton Family Fun Day, BBC Children in Need Countryfile Ramble, Charity Presentation evening, & a weekend cruise to Zeebrugge..fun packed Rotary,... and that's just all in the the first 4 months!
