The Rotary Clubs in St Albans are delighted to invite you to the annual St Albans Rotary Swimathon, taking place on Saturday, 25th April 2026. This community event is a cornerstone of our local fundraising calendar, bringing together swimmers of all ages and abilities to support a vital cause.

This year, we are proud to be fundraising for Carers in Hertfordshire, specifically focusing our efforts on supporting Young Carers. These incredible young people provide essential care for family members, and the funds raised will go directly toward providing them with the support and respite they deserve.

How the Swimathon Works

The Swimathon is designed to be inclusive and fun. Whether you are a competitive swimmer or just enjoy a casual dip, there is a place for you in the pool:

  • All Ages and Abilities: Everyone from children to seniors is welcome.

  • Swim Solo or as a Team: You can choose to take on the challenge yourself or gather a group of friends, family, or colleagues to swim as a relay team.

  • Book Your Lane: Lanes are allocated for specific time slots, so be sure to register early to secure your preferred time.

How to Get Involved

Participation is completely free, but registration is required to manage lane availability.

  1. Register Online: Visit the official event website at to book your lane.

  2. Start Fundraising: Once registered, you can download sponsorship forms or set up an online giving page to begin collecting donations for Young Carers.

  3. Spread the Word: Invite your friends and social circles to join or support your swim!

By taking part, you are doing more than just swimming lengths; you are helping to improve the lives of vulnerable young people in our Hertfordshire community.

About Rotary and Young Carers

Rotary International is committed to "Service Above Self." By partnering with Carers in Hertfordshire, we aim to shine a light on the dedication of young carers who often go unnoticed. Your participation ensures they have access to the resources, activities, and emotional support they need to thrive alongside their caring responsibilities.

We look forward to seeing you at the poolside for another record-breaking year!
