President's Night

Sat, Jun 3rd 2017 at 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm

We were delighted to welcome DG Peter Roberts, his wife Pam and AG Gabrielle Back to our President's Night Dinner at the Coventry Golf Club In addition we were joined by representatives of the other Coventry Clubs.

President’s Night

Members of Coventry Jubilee turned out in force to celebrate President’s Night at the Coventry Golf Club. The men looked suave and sophisticated in DJs while the ladies, as usual, looked cool and effortlessly elegant on what turned out to be a beautifully mild evening. The room complimented the elegance of the ladies – the tables were laid with crisp napkins, pretty, delicate flowers were gently lit by twinkling lights. Indian themed mats and  Indian sweets added a vibrant dash of colour to the tables which reflected the fact that Jubilee was celebrating a year which saw its first Indian Lady President – a truly inspirational leader.

Before the meal started, President Jaz welcomed all the guests and encouraged them to sit back and enjoy the evening.

The Golf Club provided us with a delicious meal, served at a leisurely pace, which gave the guests time to relax between courses as they chatted to old friends and took the time to make new ones.

After the meal DG Peter Roberts address the guests. He thanked Jaz for inviting him, and his wife Pam, to join Jubilee Members in celebrating the success of President Jaz’s year. He was very complimentary about Jubilee’s reputation within District 1060 and he went on to say that he wished Leanne well as she takes over from Jaz in the new Rotary year.

After a short break in proceedings the entertainment started. This had been kept a closely guarded secret right until the last possible moment on the grounds that Jaz really enjoys surprise!. The music started and into the room swirled three dancers moving to a Latin American beat. The girls were dressed in brightly coloured feathered costumes complete with feathered fans and fantastically elaborate headdresses reminiscent of a 60’s style Las Vegas show. The girls delighted their audience with a medley of dance routines representing music from the 60’s to the current day. The whole room was held enthralled as the girls performed their high energy routines.

Following a costume change the girls once more burst into the room to the strains of Indian music and performed, much to Jaz’s delight, a Bollywood routine that had everyone clapping, tapping and swaying to the music. This was the highlight of the evening and the dancers left the room to thunderous applause.

Everyone had a wonderful evening – a huge Thank You to Leanne for organising the event. She’s certainly moved the entertainment bar to a new level!
