Emma Boffey of Bowel Cancer UK and Rotarian Ron Kerr told us more about the work being done by their charity to help stop this horrible illness.

Emma Boffey and Ron Kerr gave a very interesting presentation detailing the work currently being undertaken by Bowel Cancer UK with a view to improving detection of illness and as a result the improved chances of those diagnosed surviving. Our Club donated £1,000 in March and subsequently agreed to a target of a further £1,500 to pass on by December, in memory of the Club’s former Secretary, John Burgess.

To demonstrate the Club's commitment, a 'display' cheque for the grand total of £2,500 was handed over (as illustrated above).  This full amount was actually reached by the end of August and the charity has now received these funds.
