Dear Fellow Rotarians,
The world never seems to gain any respite from its troubles and we now approach the North Atlantic hurricane season. To be prepared ShelterBox is launching the summer Stock the Box Appeal to help ensure readiness when disaster strikes.
ShelterBox watch-keepers are actively monitoring tropical storm formation and also keeping a close eye on the development of a possible strong El Niño. This could have wide-ranging consequences across the globe that they are actively preparing for by increasing warehouse stock levels.
If clubs are considering what international commitments they might wish to pursue in the new Rotary year they could help ShelterBox prepare for the worst by donating to Stock the Box. This 2026 summer they have secured a match fund of £30,000, which means that donations up to that total will be matched by a generous donor - meaning that a club’s gift could provide double the aid items.
Further details are available via the Stock the Box link:
With my thanks, as always, for your generosity which really makes a difference to those made homeless by disaster.
Yours in Rotary and as ever
Kerr
