cThe Corona Virus will affect everyone and no more so than those who are already relient on assistance.
The Rotary Club of Ossett have for some time been supporting the Community Awareness programme (CAP) in Wakefield who provide hot meals for on average 90 people per day from the homeless to those who find themselves in difficulty across the Wakefield district.
CAP is also linked to the 20+ food banks in the Wakefield area to ensure the best use of any surpless donations. The Rotary Club of Ossett have also been donating goods to the Resource Centre in Ossett too and will continue to do so.
Lots of you who previously would donate to the food bank etc will not do so due to isolation and other circumstances and in order to maintain these services the Rotary Club would like to help facilitate that you can continue to make a difference without any risk to you.
If you would normally drop a tin of beans or something every week into a food bank and wont be doing that now then please please donate via this fundraiser for us to give the money to CAP and the Food Bank directly (50/50). Whether its just a £1 a week or month then every little bit will make a difference.
The Rotary Club of Ossett has been around for over 70 years and have raised over £40000 over the last 5 years. Worldwide we have over 1.2 million members and each club is a registered charity and run according to the charity commision
All the monies raised through this will be given out and nothing taken out.
