Nailsworth RC has donated £450 towards the purchase, installation and ongoing maintenance of Aquaset mobile water filtration systems in Ukraine.
They are being installed in bomb shelters adjoining schools so that children can have easy access to clean filtered water as and when required. The filtration systems are being supplied by a Ukrainian company across the country, and are being installed and maintained by Ukrainians.
Our donation is part of a nationwide campaign to raise funds from Rotary clubs across RGB&I, co-ordinated by William Jackson, who is the D1100 Ukraine Lead as well as being on the RGB&I Ukraine team. He has considerable experience of working with charities in Ukraine, as well as purchasing and shipping ambulances and generators to Ukraine using donations from local Rotary clubs.
The photograph is of one of the water filtration systems installed.
