We are delighted that the funding from our Discover the Artists event in September last year is now being allocated and providing some wonderful projects.
We recently received a note from local artist Galina Gardiner about the work she was able to provide for Gloucestershire Young Carers. Galina provided her own time, and the materials for the young carers were funded by the Discover the Artists event. A Young Carers art workshop was provided on 3rd February. It was a lovely, productive yet relaxed day involving watercolours and Brusho, and attended by 11 young adult carers, with excellent feedback on how the art workshops helps them to enjoy life and have a break.
One young carer commented: “I enjoyed learning different techniques, especially the Brusho dye effect. It's relaxing and chilled, it makes me feel calm”.
As always, thank you to our amazing local community and the wonderful artists who donated to the event.
