A very successful long weekend, singing in Nailsworth, Gloucester Cathedral and at Stroud Brewery on 19th, 20th and 21st September

We have just ended an action-packed weekend of concerts with the amazing Bournemouth Male Voice Choir and, on Friday, Stuart Singers. We started on Thursday evening at Egypt Mill Hotel Restaurant, where the majority of the Choir were staying, for a magical and wonderful evening of music, food and (a little) wine and beer on the banks of the river.

On Friday the Bournemouth Male Voice Choir filled Gloucester Cathedral with sound, and then sang to a capacity audience at St George's Church in Nailsworth in the evening. Two amazing choirs raised the roof: Bournemouth Male Voice Choir and Stuart Singers. They sang for almost three hours, and everyone was mesmerized by the performances which left us in awe and uplifted.

Then, on Saturday evening, Bournemouth Male Voice Choir sang at Stroud Brewery. Claiming to be Bournemouth’s “biggest boy band” they sang everything from Robbie Williams and Snow Patrol to Queen and more... They raised the roof at Stroud Brewery, drank lots of their brilliant Brewery beer and ate lots and lots of pizza.

Between them, the weekend’s concerts successfully raised funds for some of Nailsworth Rotary’s charities: ShelterBox, Macmillan Cancer Support, Access Bike project, Stroud Women’s Refuge, Marah Trust and Vumilia, which is in Tanzania.

There has been fantastic generosity as always from our local communities, and we would like to thank our amazing sponsors who contributed to the success of the concerts: Egypt Mill Hotel & Restaurant, Stroud Brewery, Murrays Estate Agents and Woodchester Valley Vineyard. We also give a huge, huge Thank You to Bournemouth Male Voice Choir.
