Walsall Saddlers Rotary delivered a consignment of of 100 books to Whitehall Junior School in Walsall for their 'Book Shed' and the school library. This is part of Rotary's Book4Home project where books are donated by Rotarians and the Public and given to Primary Schools generally in deprived areas where many families cannot afford books at home. Children can choose any book from the 'Book Shed' take it home and keep it or they can return it so another child can benefit from it. The scheme also includes new books and Rotary has a relationship with a number of publishers and children's authors who donate new books for school libraries. As part of the consignment was a number of new books donated by Saddlers Rotary from proceeds arising out of Past President Pam Sheemar's sponsored silence.
If you are interested in donating good quality childrens books to the scheme or you want your local primary school to get involved please contact Moya Baty who will be able to help.
