SITE VISIT TO LOCAL CANAL PROJECT. Members of Saddlers met with members of the Paddock Active Climate Change Group to look at partnering with them in their work with the Canal & River Trust on a section of the Rushall Canal in Walsall which they have adopted. In particular the club are looking at planting apple trees along the tow path as the second phase of a linear orchard which when completed will extend the whole length of the canal between lock 7 at Walstead Road, Walsall to the moorings at Rushall Basin. Pictured (right) is Rotarian Paul Daniels with the 3 Paddock members who are spearheading the project. We are always looking for volunteers to help with this project.
