Leonard Cheshire Disability is a charity supporting disabled people in the UK and around the world to fulfil their potential and live the lives they choose. Her Majesty The Queen has been patron of Leonard Cheshire Disability since 1980, and in 2017 we marked 100 years since the birth of our founder, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire.
Newlands House in Netherseal is a local care home with nursing, and provides support to residents and a day service for people in the community.
We are really looking forward to our annual summer fete on Saturday 9th June 2018, which is held in our beautiful parkland grounds at Newlands House in Netherseal (DE12 8DA). It is very well supported by both our local and the wider community and a particular highlight of our day is the flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, in honour of our founder, Group Captain Lord Cheshire.
We have many attractions including a Fun Dog Show, Jolly Jingles, Punch and Judy, live music, craft stalls, outdoor cafe with BBQ and lots more too - perfect for all the family.
Our charity works in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ashby de la Zouch Castle on the fete, which raises funds for Leonard Cheshire Disability Newlands House, helping to make a real difference to people’s lives. Together, we aim to provide an inclusive community event for people to share an enjoyable day.
So please come along and join in the fun, as there will be a warm welcome for everyone.
