Rotary Conference benefits from excellent speakers

10 members from Ashby Castle Club attended the annual Conference at Whittlebury Hall at the beginning of October.

This was a time to meet fellow Rotarian friends from other Clubs and also see what is happening in the world and how Rotary can help. The three -day event attracted many Rotarians from across the District, covering Leicestershire, Northampton, Rutland Southern Lincolnshire and parts of Cambridgeshire. The event had several speakers including presentations from the Peace Advocate Project, Global health site solutions and “be a hero go net zero”.  The key note speakers were Mel Thomas the high Sheriff of Leicestershire and Jasmine Harrison who sailed around the world in 381 days. There were also 30 charities set out for people to visit to pick up ideas for future Rotary projects. On Friday night Lincoln Noel played during the meal and on Saturday night a wonderful meal was followed by Musical bingo ,….which certainly got the tables singing and tapping away to favourite tunes.  Overall an excellent weekend .
