Introducing Our President for Rotary Year 2026–27

The members of Milton Keynes Grand Union Rotary Club are delighted to welcome Valerie Cooke as Club President for the 2026–27 Rotary year.

Valerie's dedication to service, fellowship and community involvement has been a hallmark of her Rotary journey for the past five years. Having previously served as President of MKGU Rotary Club, she brings experience, enthusiasm and understanding of the values that make Rotary such a positive force in our communities.

Throughout her time in Rotary, Valerie has been a passionate advocate for helping others and fostering meaningful connections within the Club and beyond. Her leadership style is characterised by warmth, inclusivity and a genuine commitment to ensuring that every member has the opportunity to contribute to the Club's success.

As she begins her second term as President, Valerie is looking forward to building on the Club's proud tradition of service while encouraging members to continue making a positive difference across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. She is particularly keen to support projects that have a lasting impact on local families and young people.

Charity of the Year: Autism Early Support

For her Presidential year, Valerie has chosen Autism Early Support as her Charity of the Year.

Autism Early Support is a Milton Keynes-based charity dedicated to helping autistic children and their families access guidance, understanding and practical support at the earliest possible stage. The charity works to ensure that children receive the help they need to thrive, while also providing parents and carers with valuable information, resources and encouragement during what can often be a challenging and uncertain time.

The charity plays an important role within the local community by promoting awareness, offering tailored support and helping families navigate pathways to diagnosis and ongoing assistance. By intervening early, Autism Early Support aims to improve outcomes for children and help families feel better equipped to support their child's development.

Speaking about her choice, Valerie believes that supporting Autism Early Support aligns perfectly with Rotary's commitment to improving lives and strengthening communities. Throughout the year, MKGU Rotary Club will be raising awareness and funds to help the charity continue its valuable work.
