End Polio Now Charity Golf

The winning team of Breege Traynor, Eric Hamilton and John Kelly with Vice President Chris Duff at the MKGU Rotary'End Polio Now' Golf Day

On a beautiful evening at Aspley Guise & Woburn sands Golf club, Milton Keynes Grand Union Rotary Club enjoyed their 11th annual golf competition in support of eradicating Polio from around the world.

The near perfect golfing conditions produced a high level of scoring, with the best being 44 points from the winning team of Breege Traynor, Eric Hamilton and John Kelly (see attached photo).

The various donated raffle prizes raised an incredible £418. Our sincere thanks go to our Donors- Stantonbury Theatre, Poplars Garden Centre and PGA Golf Professional Richard Lally.

With anticipated matched funding from Santander the overall total sum raised will be approximately £2,400, a record amount for the Competition.

Whether the participants played good golf or bad golf, their generousity ensured that the Charity was the real winner.

My thanks to all involved.

Fred Mercer
