Extra Mile Challenge September

Our biggest charity effort comes through supporting the organisation of the Extra Mile Challenge annual relay cycling event.

The Extra Mile Challenge is an annual event organised by members of MKGU and Bedford Park Rotary Clubs.

It is a cycle ride covering around 500 miles for teams of 4, riding in relay through beautiful countryside on the European continent.  The ride takes place over three days in September with each rider typically covering about 45 miles per day in 4 or 5 stages.  A new route is chosen every year to pose a fresh challenge!

The riders have raised nearly £2m over the past 20 years. 75% of sponsorship raised by a team goes to a charity of their choice and the remainder is split between charities nominated by the organisers.

You can find much more detail and an entry form on the Extra Mile Website at http://www.extra-mile.org.uk/
