Information on how you can get involved with MKGU Rotary

Tabitha Cobb, Ethel Morris and Maureen McColl were inducted as members of the club in January 2018

Becoming a Rotarian

We welcome new members at MKGU.

If you’d like to find out more about joining us, contact Preston below or just come to a Rotary breakfast, meet us and have a chat.

For the first Thursday of the month we meet from 7 am onwards, sit down to breakfast at 7.30am and finish at 8.30am prompt. Even when we have a speaker, we ensure that we finish on the dot to allow everyone to get on with the rest of Thursday.

For the third Thursday of the month we meet at 6.30pm and finish at 8.00pm. We usually have a speaker and an evening meal.

Benefits of being a Rotarian

There are many benefits of joining Rotary, including

·        The opportunity to help others in our community and also help others around the world

·        Build friendships with fellow members (and their families) at breakfast meetings, social activities and fund-raising events

·        Hear a wide range of interesting speakers at Thursday breakfast meetings

·        Join a worldwide charitable organisation (with 1.2 million members) and an open invitation to visit any other Rotary club in the world

Costs

For administrative ease our fees are collected by a monthly standing order of £28 per month. This includes meal costs and an affiliation fee to Rotary International, a contribution to Rotary Foundation – our international charity - and club running costs).

On top of that we each buy a £1 raffle ticket for the weekly raffle – the prize is supplied by the individual on Welcome Duty, which we take in turn.
