Rotary in Godalming Duck Race and Fair

Sat, Sep 12th 2026 at 11:00 am - 4:00 pm

The Duck Race is one of the ways the Rotary clubs in Godalming raise funds for Rotary causes. The fair will start at 11am and run until 4pm with the first race at 12 noon.

The Duck Race

Our annual duck race this year is raising funds for the Rotary South Cut Out Cancer, ShelterBox and other Rotary causes.

The first race starts at 12 noon, with heats every 20 minutes before the Grand Final. Heat winners receive £20, with Grand Final prizes of £250, £100 and £50. Rotarians will sell tickets in local pubs from mid-July and on the day.

Rotary has been part of Godalming life for almost 90 years. The town’s two Rotary Clubs welcome men and women who want to serve the community and support local and international charities.

In recent years, Rotary in Godalming has raised and donated more than £150,000, supporting local causes including Godalming Foodbank, Godalming Community Store, Skillway, Phyllis Tuckwell and the Meath.

Internationally, Rotary supports humanitarian campaigns including End Polio Now, ShelterBox and Light up A Child’s Life in Kenya. Since Rotary began its polio eradication work, annual cases have fallen from more than 350,000 children to fewer than 10 reported this year in only two countries.

Rotary in Godalming has also set up Repair Cafés in Godalming and Chiddingfold, where volunteers help residents fix broken household items, saving money, reducing waste and helping the environment. The cafés have recently completed their 1,000th successful repair.

The Rotary Club of Godalming Woolsack, supported by clubs across Surrey and Sussex, is partnering with Royal Surrey County Hospital through the Rotary South Cut Out Cancer campaign. Funds raised will help provide high-tech specialist equipment for cancer treatment and care, supporting more accurate surgery, shorter waiting times and faster recovery. The campaign has already raised more than £250,000.

Please come along and support us on the day and help us support our local community and charities.

We are very grateful to Seymours estate agents for their continued support of Rotary’s events.
