Outgoing President Cath Lovell handed over the responsibilities of the Presidency to Seymour Baker at our last meeting in June and told the Club how much she had enjoyed her year at the helm, thanking all the members for their generous support during the year.
New President Seymour thanked the club for electing him to the position and expressed his intention to uphold the high standards set by his predecessors. As the club moves into its 25th year, it is appropriate to look back and recognise what we have achieved but more important to look ahead and to build on past achievements.
Before stepping down, Cath was able to present donations to two of the Club’s selected charities.
The donation to the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice came from money raised by our bridge lunch earlier this year, run by Rtn Bill Braid with help from club members and our very supportive group of Friends of Woolsack. The cheque was received by Rtn David Harden, a fund raising ambassador for the Hospice.
The donation to the Milford Hospital League of Friends was presented to Rtn John Sandy, who is President of the League and is also our club’s founding President.
Shortly afterwards, Club members were out in Godalming High Street for the Food Fair, with our Tombola raising more funds for charity.
