Golfers were teeing off on Thursday morning from 7.30 am at the Dunblane New Golf Club, which had generously donated use of the course for the day. 220 golfers from across Scotland, including four teams from Oban, took part, with the proceeds from this annual Rotary Club Am-Am going to the Strathcarron Hospice. After a very successful day, over £12,000 was raised. Those taking part were blessed with perfect weather: sunny, with only a light breeze, which was fortunate as the last foursome only got back to the clubhouse as dusk was falling at 10 pm. Competitors entered into the spirit of the event, taking part in the raffle and generously contributing at the refreshment stall where tea, coffee and home-made baking were available.
Winners of the competition for the foursome with the best score were The Regional Exiles: Andy Sturgeon, Liz Milligan, Cecilia Kenny and Iain Kenny. Iain also won the prize for the Best Individual Score. Winners of the Yellow Ball competition were The Oban Memorials.
