Sun, Jul 14th 2024 at 8:30 am -

Another first! The club organised the 16th Cotswold Classic Car Rally. Starting from Hillesley, 68 cars of various vintages took part in a 80 mile drive around the local Cotswold area.

With support from Dursley Rotary club, the annual rally started at Hillesley, with sixty eight cars of various vintages, shapes and sizes, taking part in the Club's first Clasic Car event.

After a 47 mile drive refreshments were provided half way round at the Jolly Nice Farm Shop & Cafe, and a 33 mile return journey followed. On return to Hillesley a proper cooked lunch was provided.

It is estimated that around 200 people took part, and there were also considerable number of local onlookers..

The event raised £4100 for the Club's Charitable Trust fund. After a donation to Dursley Club to support very local causes in Dursley and Cam and recognise their support and expertise, the remainder will support 'The Big Space' appeal at Gloucester Hospital to improve services for local cancer patients.
