An interesting meeting this evening!
First of all Robbie performed some form of Scottish ritual on a haggis, which was then eaten. This was followed by the soup course, then sweet. Most unusual! In keeping with the Burns Night theme, we also said the Selkirk Grace and sang Auld Lang Syne.
Following this, David Creighton and Dan Lynch talked to us about ABC, the local organisation that we have been supporting recently. This involved a game with spaghetti, marshmallows and lots of arguing!
And finally, Renuka Gupta talked to us about PPES, an organisation based in India that we are going to contribute £2000 to. Hopefully Stockport Rotary Club will also give the same and we hope to get the £4000 doubled up to £8000 with a Rotary grant. This will then provide a bus to get girls to school from outlying districts. Renuka had been in Chicago the day before and today had travelled from London with Krish Mehra to be with us tonight.
