This evening we held an International Night, organised by our International Committee. An excellent authentic Indian meal was served, and this was followed by the presentation of two Paul Harris Fellowship Awards. This award is made to recognize outstanding achievements made by members of our community, either locally or internationally. This evenings recipients were Beryl Whitehead who has be instrumental in setting up the Dementia Cafe in Heaton Moor, which our members support by attending on Fridays, and Dr Bahader Hagjee, for humanitarian work with the United Nations Association, for which he has raised over £23,000. This was used to support mine clearance in Cambodia and the charity Water Aid.
