During these unprecedented times, where children have had to adapt to learning from home it is especially important to ensure that they have the right equipment in the form of tablet or laptop, software and access to the internet.
Castle View Primary School and Nursery, on School Road, Matlock, has been meeting this challenge to equip its pupils with everything they could possibly need for home learning but recently found that they were in need of some additional internet connectors (dongles) to get the children connected.
The school approached Matlock Rotary Club to see if they could help and the Rotary Club agreed to provide funding for the purchase of ten dongles.
The President of Matlock Rotary Club, Tom Moloney said “We are pleased to be able to help Castle View Primary School meet the needs of its pupils. Providing ten dongles enables more pupils to have good internet access. This is a small contribution to the needs of the school but a big improvement to pupils’ home leaning.”
Headteacher Clare Peat added “We’re really grateful to Matlock Rotary for funding these devices, it’s fantastic to be able to offer a solution if families have connectivity issues. We’re incredibly proud of how our school community has adapted to the challenges they have faced.”
