President David awards Paul Harris Fellowships to Rotarians' Andy Belcham and John Spencer.
Andy has been the chair for the Clitheroe Community Bonfire committee for 10 years, during which time approximately £100,000 has been raised for local charities. The health and safety aspects would deter most people from wanting to organise this but Andy and his team successfully produce a spectacular show each year working together with RC Ribblesdale and Clitheroe Round Table. Andy also spearheaded a group of Rotarians and friends planting trees in the Rotary Wood project.
John Spencer has put what seems a decade’s work in 4 years, with his efforts in Wrap Up East Lancashire, Ribble Valley Ride, Santa’s Sleigh, again in conjunction with RC Ribblesdale and Clitheroe Round Table. John has also pioneered a new initiative for RC Clitheroe, where the club is sponsoring two students from Ukraine by providing a bursary. In addition John has worked hard in the community including projects for Clitheroe Civic Society and various roles at his place of worship.
These two appointments were celebrated and supported by all members of RC Clitheroe.
